Much is made of the fact that this is written in the second person (as in, “you did this”). As is the previous book in the Halting State series (named, uh, Halting State). I’m just going to skip all that and say that it didn’t really bother me. It was about the same as a novel written in first person. After a while, you just stop noticing (which raises the whole “then what’s the point?” question, but whatever…).
I’ll come clean: I haven’t read Halting State. Why not? Because I didn’t know this was its sequel. It’s not announced anywhere on the cover or within the book. [continue]
